Does anyone know some alternative treatments that may help someone that suffers from anxiety and panic attacks?

I highly recommend a book called Feelings Buried Alive Never Die. There is a simple emotional release technique described in the book that, when done each day for 5-10 minutes, can help ease extreme emotional upsets and even some physical ailments associated with emotional problems.

I’ve used this example before in another answer, but I’m going to use it again:

I live in small, cramped quarters and often find myself bumping into things. When I bumped into things in the past I would immediately become OVERWHELMINGLY ANGRY. The anger troubled me greatly, much more than the momentary pain from bumping into things. I used the emotional release technique in the book and I’ve not been angry from bumping into things again.

Also, I used to suffer with chronic, ever present anxiety/guilt feelings. I used the technique for that as well and I’ve felt peaceful and content with my life and circumstances and relationships overall since.

I believe I will have to continue to use the technique, but it’s totally worth it! Please look into it!

You can try relaxation techniques such as meditation and deep breathing. Some times a good exercise program can help also. Good luck.

Definetely go see a Psychiatrist! I did and in my opinion that was the only thing that helped me with my Panic Attacks! I was really bad. I would get the feeling like I had to run out of everywhere I went, feel like I was choking, and worse I would always feel scared for no reason with the worst heart pounding feeling in my chest. Oh did I forget to mention that with all these feeling I was also VERY DIZZY and ALWAYS felt like I was going to faint! Seriously take it from someone who knows….go see a Doctor. Plus Medicatiosn work too…..either an ANti-Depressant or a Tranquilzer (such as Ativan)…This is what I used…..and pretty much the only thing that helped me feel like I was sane. Good Luck!

I too suffer from panic attacks and I’ve found one thing that helps me each and every time.
No matter how bad it feels; how intense it is… you will not die. Your body has just overreacted to something that it normally shouldn’t… but it will calm down soon enough =)

I take a vitamin supplement called B-complex it helps with any stress, nervousness, anxiety or panic issues;mood swings, depression of any severity. If you want to try this at first you may have to go with 3 tablets daily they recommend 2 . If 2 doesn’t work try three.
