Anxiety attack/Panic Attack issue. How harmful is this?
I got super upset. To the point of blurry vision, shaking, dizziness, gasping for air. I was screaming and crying. I felt like in any moment I was gonna pass out. How could this have affected my baby?
This episode lasted about 7 minutes!
My mother calmed me down.
I am 17 weeks pregnant.
to check on the baby you mean?
I am now currently 37 weeks pregnant and from around 15-29 weeks pregnant I would suffer from anxiety attacks about once a day or twice a day. I even had one in the tiny doctors office!!! I felt so helpless…out of control…out of breath and terrified. I didnt scream, but I did freak out mentally and I would pace around. I ended up looking up ways to get rid of anxiety/panic attacks online and I wrote down all this advice in a notebook and read it several times.
It seemed to work for me…I am fine now and the baby has always been fine…your body is acting like it is in danger but you really are not in danger. It was odd…even when I was having a panic attack in the drs. office…my blood pressure was fine.
My suggestions are just for your peace of mind(remember its not hurting the baby)
realize you are in control, when you start to get that inkling of an attack(i know you know what I am talking about) say out loud to yourself that you are fine over and over. Take deep breaths from deep inside your abdomen and release them slowly.
Your heart may race- but you are healthy.
You may feel dizzy…but you will not pass out.
Just tell yourself this stuff over and over.
Good luck to you, I have been there…

You are fine…pregnant women have raging hormones and get upset all the time. As long as you did not physically hurt yourself and you didnt pass out…you should be fine.I would suggest seeking some therapy to deal with your anxiety issues but your baby is fine…Good Luck and try to relax!

Hey, I understand how you feel…
The uncomfortable symptoms like sweaty palms, "jelly" legs, extreme alertness, "impending doom" feeling and the fight-or-flight response.
I’ve been there. I’m an ex-victim. Sometimes the deep breathing or distraction techniques doesn’t work – a full-blown panic or anxiety attack happens later.
Sometimes you experience panic attack out of the blue and such.
Do NOT buy Panic Away, Linden Method, EasyCalm or the Panic Puzzle. They do NOT work – I’ve tried them and their solutions are similar – it DOESN’T WORK.
Medications do NOT work – I was under many antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft) and anti-anxiety medications (Ativan, Klonopin, and Xanax) but my condition was the same – no improvement at all.
The only program that really work is The Panic Attack Solution. It’s found by an ex-victim. You can check out his old blog in his official website to read up some useful tips.
But the package is the best – it teaches 17 powerful techniques and the real solution to panic attacks. I’ve bought it and it really helped me – it’s the BEST anti-anxiety package or book I’ve read.
His theory really makes sense and it works effectively!
You will learn why your panic attacks can happen without warning sometimes; why having stimulant causes panic attacks; and many-many other useful tips!

The stress hormone cortisol will have passed through to the baby. This happens throughout pregnancy so if you’re stressed a lot, the baby feels it and it can affect brain development. A one off 7 minute period alone won’t hurt… but if you’re angry and stressed 24/7 it will affect baby.
The only other thing is oxygen. If you weren’t breathing properly, the baby won’t have been getting as much oxygen as usual. Fortunately, your body prioritizes the baby over yourself so he/she is probably fine.

I had a panic attack during early labour when I found out the birth centre was closed and had to go to hospital (terrified of hospitals). My son was fine.
