Anxiety disorder or panic attacks?
What is the difference? Right now I’m having agitation that is causing my mind to race, my heart feels like it’s leaping out of my chest. I thought panic attacks were only when people literally freaked out and couldn’t breathe and started crying?
any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.
Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

They are one of the same. If you have not seen a doctor about this please do. So much can be done to control this rather then let it interfere with you daily life.

Panic attacks are one symptom (a very big one) of Anxiety disorder. And yes, you are having what sounds very much like a panic attack right now.
Panic attacks are also symptoms of other disorders. Lots of them.
See your doc ASAP. There is help available.

Anxiety disorder is a blanket term covering several different forms of abnormal, pathological anxiety, fears, phobias and nervous conditions that may come on suddenly and/or gradually over a period of several years, and may impair or prevent the pursuing of normal daily routines.
Anxiety and fear are ubiquitous emotions. The terms anxiety and fear have specific scientific meanings, but common usage has made them interchangeable. For example, a phobia is a kind of anxiety that is also defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition (DSM-IV-TR) as a "persistent or irrational fear." Fear is defined as an emotional and physiological response to a recognized external threat (eg, a runaway car or an impending crash in an airplane). Anxiety is an unpleasant emotional state, the sources of which are less readily identified. It is frequently accompanied by physiological symptoms that may lead to fatigue or even exhaustion. Because fear of recognized threats causes similar unpleasant mental and physical changes, patients use the terms fear and anxiety interchangeably. Thus, there is little need to strive to differentiate anxiety from fear. However, distinguishing among different anxiety disorders is important, since accurate diagnosis is more likely to result in effective treatment and a better prognosis.
Panic attacks are Racing or pounding heartbeat
Chest pains
Stomach upset
Dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea
Difficulty breathing, a sense of feeling smothered
Tingling or numbness in the hands
Flushes or chills
Dreamlike sensations or perceptual distortions
Terror: a sense that something unimaginably horrible is about to occur and one is powerless to prevent it
Fear of losing control and doing something embarrassing
Fear of dying

I recommend that you see your Dr. for a diagnosis. There are a number of causes for both and you need to discuss them with a professional. Please do not try to diagnos this disorder yourself, or even have someone like me diagnos it for you. You are to important and you need the correct medication to deal with your specific type. Please don’t feel embarrased to talk to your Dr. You will feel much better when you do.

A Panic Disorder falls under the umbrella of Anxiety Disorders. There are several disorders that fall under that umbrella.
Someone with Generalized Anxiety Disorder does not necessarily have panic attacks but experiences a paralyzing and irrational fear that causes distress and impairment in everyday life.
Panic disorder is illustrated by the sufferer having frequent and recurrent Panic Attacks of which there are three kinds:
1.Unexpected or uncued-which are unrelated to anything in particular in the environment
2.Situationally Bound or cued -triggered by a specific situation. This occurs after you are exposed to or anticipate being in the situation you fear-(like public speaking).
3. Situationally Predisposed -which is similar to Situationally bound but the attacks do not always occur when you are exposed to whatever is feared.
Or the person has constant worry and apprehension about possible panic attacks happening because they have no idea of why they are having the attacks and cannot predict when they will happen.
Someone with a panic disorder must have had at least one uncued attack-if said person has only had Cued attacks then it might be a Specific Phobia issue.
A panic attack includes these elements:
Palpitations or accelerated heart rate
Sweating
Trembling or shaking
chest pain or discomfort
nausea or abdominal pain
Dizziness, unsteadiness or lightheadedness
fear or losing control or going crazy
fear of dying
tingling or numbness
chills or hot flashes
feelings of unreality (depersonalization- a feeling of being detached from oneself)
See a professional about this either way; there is help out there and it can be managed.
I also suggest that you keep a log of what happens when you feel this way, note the date and time of day and where you are. Also indicate in your log what was happening when the panic feelings started.
Note whether or not it suddenly came up for no reason or if you were thinking about something specific that brings you the feelings of fear or nervousness (for example, if every time you have to go into a social situation and interaction makes you nervous you might have Social Phobia). This will be helpful to bring with you if you choose to make an appointment with a professional.
I wish you the best!

Anxiety feels similiar to excitement, but too overwhelming & uncomfortble.
Panic attacks is a feeling of extreme fear &…panic. You simply can not function rather a person whose anxious could at least do so.

The two are largely synonymous. (That means the same for those of you in Rio Linda.) The clinical term is "anxiety." See your doctor for possible medications to reduce the symptoms. You can also partake in counseling that will help you mentally address the issues that may contribute to your symptoms.
