Best way to get control back when you’re having a panic attack?
HELP ME!!
I am at work!!!
If this is a chronic problem for you then obviously get help from a professional. But ways that ive find to cope is put a rubber-band or something on your wrist. Every time you feel a panic attack coming on snap the band hard on your wrist to get you out of your head and back into reality. Also let the band be a reminder that the panic attack is causing you thoughts and feelings that are totally irrational and theyre not real. Also take deep breaths into your stomach. This will greatly help you to relax. Often times panic attacks are caused by a lack of certain chemicals in the brain. Many people get over chronic panic attacks by getting a more balanced diet. If you get anything out of what ive said it should be to remember to tell yourself when youre getting a panic attack that ITS NOT REAL.

I just talk myself through it. Close my eyes for a minute, take deep breaths and tell myself it’s in my head and I can handle it. If it happens alot and they’re really bad you might want to consider an anti-anxiety med. Zoloft helped me alot! I’m not on it anymore, but if I get back to the point I was at, I’d go back on it.

Hello Generosity. First of all NEVER be afraid of a panic attack. If you are afraid you will get another one. If you are not afraid the panic attack will last a while and then go away. Breath deep many times when you get one. Panic attacks are caused by an imbalance in brain neurotrasmiters. The spiritual explanation is that you are being attacked by a spirit this sets on your body response system. This is why you feel all your symptoms: heart palpitations, shortness of breath, etc. Acupuncture and yoga are excellent. Yoga because you learn breathing techniques. There are medicines that help. Argentox2@yahoo.com (I was a panic attack sufferer, after a year of meds I don´t suffer from panic attacks anymore)

First of all it is good that you recognize the panic signs.
Take a deep breath, and count slowly backwards, letting your breath out slowly.
Get some counselling too. Get a crisis number to call. More people understand your situation than you might realize. Take your time. You can get through it.

Don’t ignore it, trying to be noble. Tell yourself, over and over, that it’s a panic attack, not a real crisis. My dear friend just went through this. You just have to tell yourself against all the evidence that it’s not a real crisis, and that you will handle it when you can. My friend got through that night by calling a crisis line. They talked her through it and she went to her doc the next day and got back on an antidepressant she’d foolishly "weaned" herself from. Tie a knot and hang on. Get your butt to an MD and get on the drugs that it takes you to prevent panic attacks. They are not just a nuisance. They are very dangerous. Hang on now and get help!

Repeat this over and over: YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DIE.
Most people suffering from panic attacks believe they are going to die.
You won’t.
And see a bloody doctor!

Oooh thats nasty.
Best way is to lay down with your legs slighty bent, take deep breaths whilst your eyes are closed. And if your heart beats going fast try to think about somethin else, or you’ll panic even more.
Panic attacks happen when you’ve had a sudden shock to the system, there are remedies for this so ask your doc or someone at a health shop.
Hope this helps.
