Can Anxiety and panic attacks happen over a period of time like a week or do they happen quickly?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I have all the symptoms of a panic attack or anxiety attack but I’ve never had them all at the same time I’ve had them all in the last week or so, I’ve had heart palpitations for months now and hot flashes and chills and random sweating for like a week.
I’m 14 if that helps

A panic attack wouldn’t last a week. But your anxiety can follow you everywhere and will not necessarily "happen" more so, be "happening" all the time.

Anxiety attack or panic attack length? Urgent!?

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Please, please help me.

I had today what can indistinguishably be described as an anxiety/panic attack. After a series of internalizing many stressful events— my chest swelled with pain, my heartbeat was fast irregular and hard, my head was pounding, my stomach and back were excruciating, and I was crying uncontrollably.

I took deep breaths, and stopped crying but the emanating body pain continued until I drove home. Then, I began to get hot and cold flashes.

I took a pain medication and was finally able to sleep [I had been running on empty]. I woke up, felt better but two hours later.. ALL THE PAINS ARE COMING BACK. Just as bad as before.

This is so horrible, I generally have a very high tolerance for pain and would not complain if this wasn’t seriously terrible. I want to know if I may have a fever/flu on top of the attack.. and what I should do if these symptoms continue.

See your doctor about your symptoms, talking with someone helps, knowing your stressors will help you to eleminate most of them that are not really anything to worry about. Been there myself.

Andieoh3-You have my condolences about your husband.

feeling of something BAD is going to happen at any moment but dont know what

my doctor gave me xanex which takes EVERY syyptom away within minutes but i need to know are my symptoms consider severe?
they only happen when tired or when ive had a drink the night before
please take not I DO NOT DRINK ON MY MEDICATION!!!!!
JUST WONDERING IF THIS IS A SEVERE CASE OF ANXIETY

Most of them are phoebias. Xanex is useful for immediate relieve in chronic anxiety syndrome but it has withdrawal symptoms and side effects. You should be spacing it and using it to the minimum while removing the cause of the ailment. Why did you not mention claustrophobia as one of your symptoms. Claustrophoebia must definitely accompany these symptoms i.e. fear of closed rooms, travelling in lift and narrow spaces??? You must also be having dreams. Your blood pressure would be low in the condition which you are describing. You must also be sweating in the palms and hands and legs going cold when nervous. Thinking about the ailment should aggravate the symptoms. You can correct it well with a few medicines in homeopathy and cured completely instead of managing it with xanex. Xanex only temporarily manages. When the power of the medicine decreases you start feeling the problem, You need to cure the ailment Many of the phoebias are caused when the sub atomic air raises i.e. Apana Vayu which is supposed to at the Swadhistana Chakra raises upwards above the eye brows. The conditions of such are mostly when the stomach is acidic, heated up due to one or other reasons, the blood vessels constricts or narrow down, or contracts, and the main ailment in the stomach is Gastritis. Gastric ulcer etc. Heart is not affected actually but will get affected if untreated for a prolonged period of time

The main medicine you need to take is Gelsemium 30. If you look into the symptoms of Gelsemium in the link : www.homeoint.org/books/boericmm/index.htm click on alphabet G and check Gelsemium:

You will find in the Heart : the following symptoms which is exactly what you have mentioned above : i.e. "Heart : A feeing as if it were necessary to keep in motion, or else heart action would cease". Slow Pulse, Palpitation, Pulse soft weak, full and flowing, Pulse slow when quiet, but greatly accelerated on motion." You can very well see the flow of blood and why the feeling in the heart is taking place like that. The low pulse rate indicates Low pressure which you can check. The diastolic would be around 70 and will go down upto 55 in worst nervous conditions.

How to correct? The problem might have come from iatrogenic (medicine induced), it might have come from low potassium in the body, it must have reasons like you are quite atheletic, it might have reasons like sedentary living habits like late night sleeping, skipping breakfast, cigarette, alcohol, tea, coffee consumption in excess, sitting jobs, no exercise or over exercise, untimely food habits, junk food habits, side effects of influenza etc.etc. causing gastric ulcers and gastritis in the first place.

Inorder to clean up the system from ill effects of all the above, three doses of Nux Vomica 30 three times a day for one day would be ideal before starting treatment. There after one should use Hydrastis 30, three globules three times a day for as long as required to correct the liver and stomach. This will immediately stop the air from moving upwards and any claustrophoebic panic conditions.

Gelsemium 30 should be taken simultaneous or separately for the following symptoms :
1. Fear of stage, fear of heart stopping, fear of being open place like the mall or crowd, avoid strangers and people and places, fear of public and people I dont know, afraid of falling, apathy regarding illness and for heart symptoms as mentioned above.

Gelsemium may be taken three doses a day upto three days and repeated one or two doses every week. It will also work against exam fever, fear of exams, it will improve memory and sharpeness of the brain and is prophylactic to Influenza and probably swine flue.

2. You need to take medicine for raising you blood pressure which is causing sweaty hands. Bio Chemic Kali Phos 6X is the best supplement which can go alongwith the Gelsemium in correcting the low pressure, sweaty hands, choking when eating, and other many panic conditions. This may not be completely curing you, so you may take the following medicine for one week in Ayurveda:
ABANA from Himalaya Pharmaceuticals which you can google which has been found very effective in raising and correcting as well as lower if high pressure to nromal levels and maintaining it.

3. A few doses of Argentum Nitricum would be useful along with one or two doses of Arsenic Album 30 to correct the stomach ulcers if any and correct stomach in general alongwith other phobias.

4. Take single dose of Aconitum Napillus 30 to remove the fear of death or fear of dying. It can be repeated upto three doses but not more and repeat one dose whenever necessary until the fear completely goes.

Medicines should be taken in consultation with a homeopathic doctor. With best wishes and blessings.,

What should i do? i don’t want to pay for private care and medication should be available on the NHS (British national health trust) as along at is prescribed by the doctor

Medications can temporily cure anxiety attacks.

Here’s one of the method from panic away:

1. When panic arises wherever you may be, simply start to observe it.
Do not try and avoid or suppress the bodily sensations.
2. Participate as much as possible in the experience, feel all the
sensations as they course through your body. Do not label the
sensations as good or bad.
3. When the panic feels it is going to run out of control and your
confidence in your ability to observe the fear wanes, perform the

Do you get chest pains from ”Anxiety (panic attacks) ??

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Also what are some other symptoms of suffering from Anxiety panic attacks. Is it completely normal that you feel your losing your mind iff you suffer from Anxiety? & can you die from Anxiety & panic attacks????

I know one thing though … Anxiety (panic attacks) is NOT a medical condition … Its a behaviour problem.

You can have chest pains from anxiety. It is totally normal for you to feel like you are losing your mind. Anxiety and panic attacks raise your blood pressure ALOT (from personal experience.. I went to the ER not too long ago with a panic attack and my blood pressure was 192/124). And, I hate to correct you, but anxiety is a medical condition. Generalized anxiety disorder can be treated with medication, so I would suggest that you call your doctor.

I would either try a different GP or try a psychiatrist as they can also perscribe you medication and also help you with some coping skills when you have anxiety attacks. Or go back to the old doctor, he is probably just trying to get you to take a more natural approach first but if he doesnt have anxiety he probably doesnt realize that things like yoga and exercise are impossible if you are constantly having attacks or feeling anxious. Why would you want to go for a jog if you feel like your going to pass out? Medication can help, just be careful as to take it only when you need it or get on a long term medication because it cna become addicting which can in the end make your anxiety even harder to deal with. Good luck!!

anxiety / panic attack symptoms.?

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

the past 5 days ive been experiencing chest pains towards the left of my chest and left arm numbness and tingling also, is this due to my anxiety and panic attacks. it does go away sometimes but comes back. i have had a ecg on october last time i headed to the hospital and i was fine. and last nite i borrowed my mums blood pressure machine and it was 107/60 65
is this just another symptom of the vicious panic attack and anxiety. i just visited my Gp on monday and he said i was fine and i suggested to see a psycologist he was like it wont help much as you will always find something else wrong. i just hate being like this and feeling like this

Ya it sounds like you do have panic attack symptoms . You need to stop focusing so much on your health, and just try to relax, do something spiritual. Go for a jog or swimming. Just go to a river or any body and water and just sit there relax and watch the ripples in the water this is so relaxing and it helps ease your anxiety, but you do need to seek professional help.
