hey.
i suffer from bad anxiety and randomly have panic attacks, i dont know what brings them on or when they are going to occur, and when they come i cant control it or calm myslef down no matter how hard i try,
does anyone have and suggestions on how to cope?
im starting theropy soon and im on medication (that does not work) but im starting a new one today….. but i just need some help and i feel like no one wants to help me :’(

You should talk to a doctor and ask about prozac. Prozac is not only helpful for depression but also MAJORLY helps with panic attacks.

hope it helps

How does one deal with a panic attack? I think I am getting them and they are horrible. cI started to panic and my body started to get hot and sweaty. any cures? what treatment does one take?

I always tell people its good to talk with a doctor or a therapist about this. Just to be on the safe side of things, because other things can be going on too. And if it is anxiety, they can help with ways to cope, or medications.

Dealing with anxiety its a real tough thing, and it can become debilitating in trying to live anormal life. I know, I have social anxiety and it holds me back from doing a lot of things. The friends who have put up with me for this have helped me by encouraging me to develop the f*** it attitude. I didn’t think it would work, but I started saying it whenever I got those feelings and it set in some. I still struggle with it, and it still holds me back, but I’ve grown as a person and become less anxious and more able to do things by adopting that attitude.

My BF gets panic attacks when going on planes, in crowds, or amusement rides etc, what can I do to help him? He’s on anti-depressants for them but they don’t seem to work

I have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety for 8 years. I was on anti depressants for 2 years, and then I got off of them because they didn’t help with my anxiety or panic attacks. The way that I try to control them, is when you feel one coming on, I try to get myself busy with something else, because the more you think about the panic attack the worst it gets. I sometimes also call someone that knows that I get them and tell them just to talk to me. The worst thing you can say to someone having a panic attack is are you okay, or are you still having the panic attack. Saying that only reminds them that they were having it, and it makes it worst. The best thing is to ask them how there day was, or if you have something planned, ask them about the plans you have. Something that will get their mind off of freaking out about the panic attack. Ice water helps me too. Hope I’ve been helpful

cause i need 2 control them

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called "St John’s Wort" – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….
