suffering from frequent panic attacks, how can i make them stop?
Thursday, February 11th, 2010For little over a week now i have been suffering from panic attacks several times a day, maybe 6 or 7.. sometime 9 or 10. They come on for no apparent reason, even if i’m just sitting on my sofa watching television, or walking my normal route to the shops. I suddenly feel sheer dread, like the world is closing in on me. I’m a single mum to a 7month old, i need to get these attacks under control. How can i do that?
I know how you feel. I have bipolar disorder and I sometimes have panic attacks. It sounds like you have a chemical imbalance. Anxiety is normal in humans for survival but excessive anxiety can cause problems (ie panic attacks). The human brain can’t tell the difference between what it sees and what it remembers. Has anything happened to you in the past that has set this off? Certain environments and conditions can stimulate previous memories that have made you nervous. Along with a chemical imbalance can make this worse and irrational. Go to the doctor and ask for an anti depressant and maybe xanax. This should help calm you down. Trust me. I know from experience.
