The only way to determine the cause of your symptoms is to go to the doctor. These symptoms could be related to a panic attack, but they could also be related to an underlying medical condition. This does not sound typical of an asthma attack though, but it is possible. Asthma attacks classically are associated with shortness of breath, cough, and wheezing. Asthma attacks can certainly increase the heart rate. Asthma is easy to evaluate for with simple breathing tests. These symptoms could also be related to an abnormal heart rhythm, such as supraventricular tachycardia.
Yes, Chest X-Ray can show an enlarged heart. But these symptoms are not signs of an enlarged heart. Enlarged heart can also be normal in some well trained athletes. I doubt a Chest X-ray would provide any useful information. You need to see the doctor to have these complaints evaluated. Your doctor will likely check blood tests and an EKG. Your doctor may also consider a 24-48 hour heart monitor, stress test and ultrasound of the heart (Echocardiogram) depending on the results of the other tests. I would suggest you get evaluated by your doctor regarding these complaints before you begin an exercise regimen. If you know you are unhealthy, then try to change your ways.
