Depo-Provera PANIC ATTACKS, ANXIETY, CAN’T SLEEP ETC?
Okay. I have been suffering from what i think is panic attacks, anxiety, sleep problems etc. ever since I have been on depo. I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced THESE FOLLWING SYMPTOMS: (i have looked online and it seems like i am the only one suffering from these)
-self conscience about heart ALL the time, especially at night
-panic attacks
-freaking out before i go to sleep, thinking i am going to stop breathing
-thinking odd thoughst as im trying to sleep (like i am dreaming without actually being asleep)
-heart sometimes hurts or feels funny
-anxiety
-nervousness
-depression.
i know some of these are common, but what about the other weird things? i have been to my doctor they told me it was nothing to worry about, but i havent actually had a chance to see my real doctor. im going very soon though. i’d just like to maybe know if this is common.
if it is, i am never taking the shot again. its aweful. i lose so much sleep because of my anxiety. its terrible.
thank you.
Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called "St John’s Wort" – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

Yes i feel everything and more that you posted almost everynight. Its like having some kind of fear of sleeping because your afraid you wont wake back up well at least thats the feelings i come across. And i’m constantly worried about my heart and every weird beat it might have i freak out. I am on medication but it doesn’t work all the time. What people like us need is someone to talk to who experience the same thing, so we can get comfort that we will be just fine cause unless you go through this horrifying feelings no one really knows exactly how you feel.

it has psychological causes at his roots that’s why doctors don’t know what to tell you because it’s not apnea. I cured myself long time ago, suffered from it for 9 years. you can cure it in three days max with some new psychological tricks.

If you suspect that it is causing these problems just stop taking it (or never getting the shot again). The doctors might say there is nothing to worry about but you obviously know better because you are the one feeling them. It could be too strong for you, therefore it is making your hormones go crazy, you get depressed, then anxious, and the fear or lack of sleep is just a result from the first two. Try to ask for something not as strong but give your body time to balance itself out first. Good luck.
