In case you don’t have a clue as to what I’m meaning to ask, here is the definition for scoleciphobia:

Scoleciphobia is the fear of worms. The sight of worms, or anything that looks like a worm may cause someone with this phobia to have panic attacks. The sight of a worm may also lead to extreme anxiety.

Throughout my life, I have been experiencing this ever since I was little. I want to get rid of it but I worry that it’ll only make my ways of seeing these creatures worse.
The thought of those creepy crawlers touching me or touching others, such as people, objects, etc. is just disgusting to me and it makes me want to scream sometimes. Already thinking about it, it makes me shiver. Ugh.

I know that there are many ways to help stop this phobic situation lessen. For now, all I want to know is if anyone is experiencing and/or has experienced this in their lives. And if possible, how they or did or did not stop the continuation of scoleciphobia. I want to know that I am not alone. Yes, I know that I’m not, but I still feel it, y’know?

Of course, this is a silly phobia. To anyone that thinks this I can definitely agree with you. I see how this is possible and absolutely ridiculous. But most of us suffer from 1 or more fears and as stupid as it may sound, it is true.

My thoughts lead me to the worse, at times. But, please. If anyone suffers from this, let me know. I’d like to hear your story. Or better yet, contact me by mail at neonpod@yahoo.com. I’m serious. I need somebody to talk about this for my sake … and yours, if you’d like.

My brother had an extreme fear of worms, but I don’t. He got over his fear by spending as much time with worms as he could. He started by just looking at them, then he got closer over time, and after a while he actually picked one up… I like don’t mind worms… I’m scared to death of bees and hornets though…
