Does rescue remedy work? for nerves in general?
I tend to get mild panic attacks at mild things un-expectedly and its beginning to affect my confidence a lot…
I bought some rescue remedy today and haven’t tried it yet, do you need to take it several days before you know if anything’s going to upset you or just a few hours before?
Also, if you’ve tried it, how much did it help you?
thanks ![]()
I think it’s excellent, I always take it when I know I’m going into a situation that will make me nervous, such as a job interview. It always serves to calm my nerves and regardless of whether or not that’s simply a placebo effect, it works as I’ve never failed a job interview yet!
You don’t have to take it days in advance, just a few hours is fine and I usually take it right up until I walk through the door into the interview, just a couple of drops on my tongue when hidden in the company toilets usually!

My work (a school) swears by Rescue Remedy, if a kid has a fall or a fright they will give it to them, and when I had a bump in my car on the way to work I took it then. My partner takes it before flying too, every half hour or so. I don’t think it really matters how long you wait before you take it. Maybe it’s just a placebo?

Hi,
I am a really nervous person so I understand how you are feeling. I find that Rescue Remedy works for me. I’m not sure if it’s the stuff itself or the fact that is tastes revolting so it takes your mind off what you’re nervous about. I prefer the spray to the drops. I last used it when I was selected for jury service. Another good remedy to try is the ‘quiet life’ tablets.

Rescue Remedy is pure placebo. It consists of brandy, with minute amounts of flower extracts, too small to do anything.
What is strange though, is as it does nothing at all, those who claim it works are actually conquering their own anxieties, on their own!
It just goes to show that these anxieties are just in the mind and can be controlled by yourself.

I have to say it never works for me, some of my classmates swear by it and it may work for you….but I would recommend you go to see a classical fully insured homoeopath in your local area and get a constitutional remedy. Homoeopathy is great for things like panic attacks and you can usually see quick results. It is what rescue remedy principles are based on and for me my panic attacks where nipped in the bud with a hmeopathic remedy.
You take the rescue remedy as and when you need it, so actually on the day of the upset etc. Taking it weeks in advance is overkill and you may just become immune to it. Rescue remedy is a very light dose so you don’t want to over do it.
Hope this helps…

Yes, it works. Its a remedy by edward bach, he’s well renowned for his flower remedies. But i prefer taking a small dose of valerian root to relax. It works much faster and can be taken in a tincture form.
