help/cures for preventing panic attacks??
i’ve recently had like 4 panic attacks and i think i have a panic disorder…have any of you taken treatment for preventing panic attacks and what helps…even if it’s not medicine?? i really need to know!
i’m also under 18, and i saw that a lot of people who asked about help for them recommended anti-depressants, but you have to be 18 to take them. But i found this website that had this medicine called Seredyn and it said it was all natural..has anyone tried it?

Yoga. Yoga. Yoga. Take a yoga class now. Breathing and being in touch with your body will help you avoid and control panic attacks. You need to get to be best friends with your body. Yoga is where to start. From there you can learn meditation, which keeps you very calm. Medicine is a bad answer. Do yoga.

I have had panic attacks since 1971, the best I can tell you is go to a doctor, they have the best stuff nowadays for this problem. I wish I had gone a long time ago, but I was not aware of the cures.

Find out what’s putting you in that frame of mind and change it. Medication can only help you feel better, but don’t fix the problem.

well i have panic attacks when i have a plan for the next day like getting up early to go to the store to get something for school and when it doesn’t work out i always have a panic attack but…now i just expect the worst that can happen so i’m prepared for the day. it works for me all the time and more on the store i needed food for my facs class and it was for a final and i went to the store and they were closed because all the power was out it sucked and i had a panic attack but then the next time it happened (which it happens a lot here idk why) i just thought of the worst thing that could happen and when it was closed i just asked someone if they would be willing to go back to the store later for me…so basically where i’m trying to get at is expect the worse so its not so sudden when it happens

Try to stay away from the bezodiazepines, such as xanax, ativan. clonipin, and valium. They will hurt you in the long run. I found that breathing also works well, as you have read. With the aid of a psychologist I learned biofeedback, which is very helpful. It teaches you how to even out your head and body, thus relaxing you. I agree also with doing yoga. Good luck.

The best thing to do is sit down with your doctor and explain the type of panic attacks you are having. Panic attacks are not uncommon and doctors are the best people to give advice.
