I was sent to the hospital early this morning because I had a really bad panic attack. I think the reason I have been having this is stress. I just had a baby boy 12 weeks ago and I have a three year old daughter that always wants me and three weeks again my dad had a heart attack, my grandma has tumors in her head, my other grandma has 75% of her main artery clod, and trying to get the money up to get our van fix too. So ya I have a lot of stress lately I just want to know what I can do at home to prevent another bad panic attack. The last time I had one this bad was when I was 6 months pregnant with my daughter and I do every now and then get this little ones that don;t bug me that much.
I also had a hard pregnancy and birth. I was put on bed rest when I was 6 months for early labor. When I was delivering the nurses had to use chest compression on my hips because my son shoulder was stuck on my hip bone.

There are some really great relaxation tapes out there right now. I am using the lucinda bassett program right now, its "cognitive behavioral therapy" I’m just starting out, but it helps you learn to relax. I ahve heard really good things about it from others. In the mean time, when you start to feel yourself panicking, lay down close your eyes and focus on breathing deeply, 2 counts in, 4 out. Try to block thoughts form you mind about whats stressing you out, and think of simple phrases like "i am calm" You feel a little silly doing it but it can help a lot.

I had a lot of panic attacks awhile ago and What i found out to help me was to go see a doctor and got on zoloft. If you dont want to be on any meds then another thing to help would be to start thinking that no matter what…. If its going to happen… There is nothing you can do about it and stressing about it all the time is just going to make it worse…
