how can i stop panic attacks?

im only 15 and i went to the hospital the other day from a really bad panic attack and ive been getting little ones every day. im scared im ganna have to go on medication and crap for it,are there any ways to stop myself from getting them?

Take slow deep breaths and don’t ever breath fast, that only makes it worse. Crying can help sometimes, and releases allot of stress! You might have to be put on something to help you calm down!

no, i dont think there really is a way to stop yourself from getting them but your best bet would be to relax more maybe try some yoga, and try not to stress so much.

when you feel an attack coming take a deep breath in slowly and exhale thru your nose more rapidly several times till you feel better , try humming to yourself it gives your mind something else to think about. good luck you will be fine

I have been getting them since I was 15 and really there’s no ‘cure’ for panic attacks, wish there were! The only thing they can do for you is put you on medication, i.e. paxil, prozac, lexapro. Paxil worked best for me, and also they can give you something such as visteral or xanax to take on the spot to get rid of the panic attack almost immediately. Just remember you’re really breathing just fine, and you’re not having a heart attack, just sit back and slowly breathe in and out

Try thinking about what it is that causes the attack. Like…so you get them after an argument? Or at work? Then when you get into a situation like that just try to take deep breaths and tell yourself that you are ok.

If you can’t keep it under control you may need to try medication, but it’s not a bad thing if you need it. Have your parents take you to talk to your doctor and see what he says. Tell him your concerns about being on a medication. If medication is necessary for your health your doctor can help you find the right one. If it’s not he can give you relaxation tips

well when i have a panic attack i think about what might have started it. then i think that the reason is stupid and its not worth looking like dumbass infront of everyone. then i go and meditate or as i like to call it contemplate until i feel as though i’m calm and done panicing:]
