How long do panic attacks ………… ???
has anyone with panic attacks actually stopped getting them. I have panic attacks and just wondering if I’m going to have this for the rest of my life or will it go away. ALso does anyone know whats the smallest dose of paxil a person should start at?
I started since I was 19 yrs old and got it like once a year but now its like once a year but only a whole month. It’s been going on since and now its 5 years and counting …hopefully it’ll just stop.
They can go away. There is hope!! I know. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for the medication to help. Different medicatons work for different people. Also, therapy can help. You need to find what triggers them. If you figure out what triggers them, avoid it until the medication gets into your system. Seek medical HELP!!!
Paxil comes in different forms. One is a 40mg dose It is taken once per day. Zoloft is another medication that is good for long term treatment of panic attacks. See which one your Doctor thinks is best for you.
There are meds to help "during" the attack. These are short-term, they last long enough to get you through the attack. xanax, ativan, or klonopin
Panic attacks are associated with anxiety disorders. Please read up on it. http://www.adaa.org/

The longer you go without treatment, the harder they can be to stop. Please see a Doctor.
You will be okay, God Bless

I got them all the time until I got on zoloft. At first it made it worse, but now they are finally gone. Thank God. I know how horrible they are when your going through it, and feels like your dying. Some people only experience them once in their life time during a stressful time, others get them more frequently, which is a disorder and needs to be treated.

Panic attacks are a normal aspect of human psychology. They will always be there, but come and go over time and with varying intensities. How often you get them depends on how you take care of yourself emotionally.

Panic attacks last from seconds to minutes. They are fairly easily treatable by a combination of psychotherapy and medication. If an anxiolitic medication is used, the doctor should discuss with you how he will get you off the medication before you even start it. Paxil would not be a typical medical for panic attacks. Anxiety disorders and depression, even OCD, yes, but true panic attacks typically require something different.
