How long does it take Effexor XR to work for panic attacks?

The instructions say it can take 4-6 weeks, but after about 2 weeks, I was feeling so much better. And after 4 I don’t think I had any more. (Unfortunately, that 1st week really wigged me out, I just wasn’t used to the feeling of medication…but it went away really quickly for me) Good luck and I am so sorry you are going through that!

In my experience, Effexor takes several weeks to start to have an effect. It is not really a quick-fix medication, but more of a long-term treatment.

There are natural cures for panic attacks that actually get to the root of the problem and enable you to conquer anxiety panic attack symptoms once and for all.

Some of the most effective methods are the simplest ones. Breathing exercises, muscle relaxation exercises, visualization and thought modification are a few of the more common natural cures for panic attacks, but there are many many others. Once you start to use these techniques, you begin to realize that you are in control of your life and you have control over the anxiety.

Medications cover up the problem, acting as a bandage to the symptoms. Natural cures for panic attacks get to the root of the problem and give us the power to be objective and realistic, making us realize that anxiety panic attack symptoms are really nothing to fear at all.

It took about a month to work for me, after six months my social phobia had gone too :) . If you find yourself getting a bit aggressive or "antsy" on it, see your doctor for something to counteract that. After two months you should be able to just stay on the effexor without a calming agent, as I call it :) . Try to work up to 225mg as soon as you can, that when the norepenephrine thing kicks in and that’s what really helps :) .

"Medications cover up the problem, acting as a bandage to the symptoms." — That statement is just pure crap and a sure way to get into deep problems if you believe it..

Like other SNRI’s and SSRI’s, Effexor corrects a chemical imbalance. It covers up nothing. It is recommended that full effect takes about 4 wks, but I agree that some person’s feel the effect before.

Other coping skills and techniques help alleviate stress, but if you condition is serious enough to warrant medication, then those skills will ultimately fail.

Effexor, lifts the "veil" of anxiety, depression and lessens the deep lows associated with depression/panic/anxiety.
