I started having attacks when i went to college last year.i don’t really know how they started but i do know they have ruined my life.but i have them and i don’t know how to deal. i can’t go to the stores, mall, anywhere. i haven’t been out of my neighborhood in months. i only have my permit but the anxiety makes me not want to drive because i have them when i drive. so i haven’t drive in months either and i really want my license to drive and get a job without freaking out every two seconds.. i just want to go back to normal. does anyone know how to get rid of anxiety all together or to help get rid of it somehow over time or anything? thanks.

i recommend seeing a psychiatrist and getting their opinion.. they may be able to suggest medication if needed.. and talk therapy is very beneficial.. the best thing about a therapist is that they don’t know you.. therefore they don’t have any personal opinions towards you.. so you get honest, unbiased help..

one of the best depression/anxiety relievers i can recommend is exercise.. it takes your focus off what’s bothering you and hey it’s just good in general.. exercise also releases serotonin, dopamine and a few other nuerotransmitters in your brain.. serotonin deals with sleep and mood regulation and dopamine is related to pleasure and happiness.. those chemicals i just mentioned are the ones that your brain lacks when depressed.. exercise helps to balance them.. this has been clinically proven to work faster and longer than medication.. simply taking a twenty minute walk each day could really help..

exercise also releases endorphins.. the body’s natural pain killers.. this is related to "runner’s high"..

other than exercise you could try deep breathing, muscle relaxation techniques, meditation, yoga, listening to music, writing in a journal, or talking to a friend about it.. i also drink ungodly amounts of tea.. haha..

get a good social support network.. talk to a friend or family member about how you feel..

take time out for yourself each day.. to just reflect, relax, and settle your thoughts.. do things that relax you and that you enjoy..

when you lie down to sleep, concentrate on your breathing.. just keep a steady inhale and exhale.. in through your nose and out through your mouth.. this will help to calm your heart rate and hopefully help you sleep.. do this anytime you feel yourself getting anxious also..

i hope this helps.. and best of luck..

First of all, see your doctor. You will probably need a prescription. Secondly, I think I get them too, and a lot of times I just take deep breaths and just tell myself that it’ll pass and it’ll be over soon. Unfortunately, you have to just learn to live with it.

There are lots of good medications for this. Talk to your doctor. I had a friend who was afraid to leave the house for years. Once she started medication she was back to normal in a couple of weeks. Some people don’t have to take it forever, just until they get used to feeling normal. But don’t stop suddenly. That could make things worse. Always talk to you doctor before tapering off of the medication slowly. Good luck!!

Well when u first start getting them its really hard to control. I almost got sent to the hospital. I started talking to my mom and they went away . But every time i stopped talking i would get them again it was weird. I just learned how to channel it and focus on something else because there isnt always going to be someone to talk to 24/7. I still have them from time to time there not as bad or scary i deal with them. I chose to do it this way because i rather not b on meds. Its def not the same for everyone tho some ppl need meds but if u never want to experience them i suggest u talk to a doc and get on some meds u could do either one thats up to u. But dont let anxiety take control of ur life k. Good luck to on getting ur dl.

I heard they are hereditary, but also something big could have happened to you in college that got you triggered to them. It really sucks to have them, i know i get them too.
You need to take care of yourself cause no one will. You need to start by going to the doctor and taking the inititive to go to a psychologist. I know this is a long process but belive me at the end it will all be worth it. Mind can play tricks on us so try and face your fears. Remind yourself that you can do it over and over and every day take another step.

The first step to learn anxiety panic attack relief is to believe that you have the ability to take control. Anxiety disorder is not a disease it’s a state of mind that can be controlled. The body responds to the messages sent to it by your mind, even if the situation is totally safe but your mind interprets it as unsafe, your body will respond to what you think. The first step in anxiety panic attack relief is changing the way you think. During anxiety attacks, tell to yourself “I will be alright, this cannot harm me and I will feel better.” Your mind and the way you think can control your anxiety physical symptoms.

First i would like to say that you are not alone in this fight, a lot of individuals have this. the next step is to find out all you can about this disorder so you can combat. also visit a doctor to get their opinion and they can also prescribe something that may help curb the problem. there are other methods that can help get you through the symptoms, example deep breathing, or listening to relaxing music like jazz or just mental imagery of something you love. i wish you all the best
