Yes, seeing a psychologist can help IF your problem is because of something that needs to be dealt with mentally? For example stress of any kind? anger? hidden feelings that needs to come out? problems that needs sorting?

You don’t say much about your anxiety, how bad it is, how often you get attacks? and when does it come? why?

Meditation works best. Drugs are temporary solutions only. You need to start with the root of the problem or else you will only continue to get these attacks for the rest of your life.

I threw away my drugs after a month because of the really bad side effects. Only weak people need drugs, people who can’t face there fears or who gave up on themselves and needs to rely on something else to fix there problems, but don’t realize its only making it worse for them.

Unless your mentally handicapped in some way, diagnosed with some mentaly disability, there should be no reason why you can’t cure these attacks yourself. I did. Just research everything you can on anxiety/panic attacks. Obviously you have access to the internet, what more resources do you need? Go to the bookstore. Read everything you can on anxiety. Buy the book you’re most comfortable with, easy to read, easy to follow, one you could go back to more than once.

Important tip. Once you’re over these attacks. Don’t take for granted they won’t come back. I made the mistake of thinking they will never come back until 4 yrs later it did and i missed work for a month and a half, didn’t eat for several weeks, couldn’t get out of bed. It traumatized me pretty badly.

Deep breathing helps a LOT to get over these attacks. practice them everyday….for the rest of your life. Make your brain never forget how to deep breathe properly. Because you never know.

Good luck!

There are a few different herbal medicines you can try. St. Johns wart is a good one to try. I started to get them when I was a teen and they have slowly gone away. I dont like taking medicine but sometimes, it is going to be the only way for you to get rid of them. If they are very severe then you should go to a doctor and see what he says. Chances are, he is going to put you on medicine. Did they just randomly start? How do you know it is a panic attack? There are many things that feel like a panic attack but are actually other things.

You should try to help your self with any of the available resources at your fingertips before seeing a "for profit" entity. http://CureMyPanic.com has excellent articles and is a great place to start. Check it out and Good Luck to You!
