I have panic attacks when I drive! How can I prevent them?
I also have them in a public place! I’ve taking medication, but it don’t seem to help!
I have to take my meds well in advance of doing something that I know will make me panic. So you may just need to take 1 a day.

Try public transportation for a while. You might also look into a Psychiatric Service Dog to alert you to upcoming attacks so you can take medication before the panic attack, rather than during- that is, if you’re a dog lover already and willing to commit to the hard work of acquiring and training a PSD.

1 – dont take meds…they make em worse for me. i ended up in the hospital…meds suck!
2 – its a lifestyle change…I made the people around me aware of them and how to help me…so I had less anxiety about being in public places…getting them while driving is the worse! All you can do is pull over and start walking and moving around. It helps with circulation and to take your mind off the attack.

Meditation may be a useful addition to your treatment. Practice deep-breathing techniques whenever you are mildly stressed, before a panic attack occurs. With plenty of practice, you will find it easier to calm down when you are actually having an attack.
