i am having a panic attack every time i smoke weed now and i have developed like 10 floaters in my vision out of nowhere. i cant play a video game or shave without being ridden with anxiety. i went to my doctor today and he wouldnt prescribe me xanax or valium simply because he doesn’t personally use those medications, is that fair? I never had anxiety this bad until I got on lexapro and now withdrawing off lexapro i still have anxiety. Should I go to another doctor and get another opinion I’m ridden with anxiety every day for the past 6 months.
P.S ive been off the lexapro for 7 months now and still feel terrible.

Same thing happens to me, sometimes. I have been smoking for about 5 years and normally I have no problem, but recently after a couple of bowls or a joint I feel myself starting to regret smoking the dosage I did. Also, my environment plays a big role in how my high goes; If I am at home I am usually ok, but lately if I go out in public i find myself shaking violently or having shortness of breathe. I have dealt with this problem for many different drugs, the main one being mushrooms, but also ranging from lorasets and xanax to methamphetamine.

I get panic attacks half the time I smoke grass. I am the most anxious neurotic person ever. I will get cottonmouth and I will think Im chocking then I will start hyperventilating and feel short of breath. Plus, the racing heart. Damn hypochondriac, I just think I am more sensitive then most people. I mean I would always get headaches from hearing chalk on a board and even the feeling of a pencil rubbing against paper would give me a headache. My doctor won’t give me xanax or klonipin either, even though I used them for years in high school with great success. The funny part is the reason he will not give it to me is because I told him I smoke cannabis, so he thinks I will abuse it. I hate that stereotype of cannabis smokers and druggies or addicts. I use cannabis for creative and spiirtual reasons.

That is one of the side effects of long term use. You damage your brain and body.
Ever thought of giving up smoking that stuff?

You’re smoking the wrong variety.
I know a guy who is a psychopharmacologist and he told me each strain has its own chemical composition and will have idiosyncratic effects on the brain. Some are uppers and cause agitation and anxiety, while others are downers. You have to experiment to find a strain that’s agreeable to you (just like the 3 bears of the Goldilocks story).
Smoke a bit less. I took three huge bong rips and had a severe panic attack. Now I stop at one.
That’s interesting about the Lexapro; its an antidepressant that also helps with anxiety.
