I suffer from panic attacks and I would like to know if anyone knows how to prevent or eliminate them?
I’ve been suffering from them on and off for 25 years and I just don’t know when they will show up so I like to stay close to home and not go out. This type of life really sucks and I am so tired of them. I used to think I was having a stroke or a heart attack but my medical checkups immediately after told me I was in perfect health. If there is anyone out there that can help I would sure appreciate it. Thank you
Your best bet would be to talk to a professional to help you through your panic attacks. A professional can develop a plan of action for you that could include talk therapy, medication, or both.

My sister-in-law has had them most of her life and she’s 49.She finally found a medicine that makes it possible to live a :normal:life. It’s called Lexapro and it really works. My husband has Parkinson’s and he would have to get up to take his med’s in the middle of the night but after he started taking it too he doesn’t have to do that any more. The only draw back that I have found is you gain weight.I was taking Wellbutrin for my depression and had bad side effects and had to go of it and took the Lexapro and I’m doing great.

I have them to. I started having them 14 years ago, When my seizures started. Because my medicine causes them. Then my doc. tried a few medicines for the anxiety. Now I’m on celexa 40mg. its ok.

I recently developed a panic disorder. I have random panic attacks completely out of nowhere, so I avoid public places for the most part because I never know when one will come up. I’ve been working with my psychologist with a book called "The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook". The author’s name is Bourne. It’s a pretty good book and is making a difference in my life. I can’t say it will cure you or anything, but it may help.
