I think i had a panic attack last sat i’m still having symptoms a week later tightness and stuff is this norm?
I haven’t been to a doctor, because i have no insurance. I had open heart surgery at a year old to repair holes in a valve. Any input would be great! I don’t know what to do.
I think it is important that you are evaluated by a doctor to ensure that nothing more serious than a panic attack is occuring. There are several medical conditions that can have similar symptoms to panic attacks and are potentially life threatening. It is important to evaluate life threatening conditions first, before labeling your symptoms as a panic attack. It is very possible that you did have a panic attack, especially if you have a history of them and this was simlar to your previous attacks. Also with your history of congenital heart disease it is even more important to have this evaluated. Holes in the heart (ASD/VSDs) increase the risk of developing abnormal heart rhythms in the future even if they are repaired. These abnormal heart rhythms are atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter, which could potentially produce symptoms similar to a panic attack like palpitations, a fast heart rate and even difficulty breathing. You need to have these complaints evaluated by a doctor, especially if they are new. Chest tightness this long after a panic attack is not normal. I know you have no insurance, but it is important to ensure that nothing serious is going on. Many areas have clinics that offer free or low cost services for unisured people. You should contact the social services office in your area to determine which resources are available in your area.

well i suffer from anxiety attacks but they are different for everyone with me i usually pass out and im fine 30 mins later you however definetly neeeeed to see a doctor or call a heart specialist about this because if you do have panic attacks someone in your situation could possibly die because of the dangerouly high heart rate and pulse one gets with a panic attack

Tightness from a panic attack a week ago is not normal, you have something else going on there. I would suggest you call your Cardiologist and have a chat with him about this pain you feel. That is definitely not normal a week later.
