Hi. My name is Courtney I’m 14 and was recently diagnosed with Anxiety disorder. Its extremely scary and I tend to dwell on nothing but the negative. Well my question is: Is it normal to experience chills like tingling sensations in the legs and head and to have racing thoughts about fear of dying? Serious answers only please :(

yes it’s normal. just stick in there, even though it’s hard.

for sure. those were my first symptoms of panic attacks. were you put on an anti depressant? if so, it makes you worse for about the first week or two, but then you’ll notice a significant difference and you’ll feel better. start seeing a psychiatrist and be open with your friends and family on how you feel. it makes panic attacks so much easier to get through. tell yourself that it will be over soon. don’t say "i’m ok" because at the time, you feel like you’re lying to yourself. I have panic disorder and it’s been 7 months and i’m feeling like myself again. you’ll get through this and it will make you such a stronger person. good luck and ask me if you need any more help.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this herb called "St John’s Wort" – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
If you’re unable to take St John’s Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….
