im scared of having a panic attack and fainting as a result?
Alot of the information on the net says its very hard to fint during a panic attack, is this true? Alot of research indicates that slow regulated breathing is the key to overcoming the symptoms of a panic attack, especially the lightheadedness and dizziness experienced. Does the deep breathing help oxygen back to the brain? regards
You should seek help if you are having panic attacks; ask your doctor for a referral to a psychologist. Slow deep breathing helps to regulate your body so it’s not a bad thing.
It might help to envision what will happen when you do something new like meet someone for the first time, go the mall, get in trouble or anything that causes stress. Rehearse the worst scenario and decide the best reaction to the situation. This would help to minimize the chance of an attack starting.
Learn to do yoga as this really helps to centre a person both physically and emotionally.

Breathing into a paper bag really helps. The CO2 in your breath acts to calm you down. It always works, it’s cheap and you can easily carry a small paper bag around with you.
