Is it bad when i cant make the difference between reality and fantasy? ?
Everyone says reading is good for you. When i read i feel like that i get so into the book and the story becomes real to me. Sometime i cant make the difference between what really happen to me and what happens in the book. I started reading a story today and it became so real to me that i started having a panic attack. I do have a panic disorder but never had a panic attack from reading a story. Is this normal or do i have a mental disorder?
You say you have a "panic disorder", if that be a fact you must have been diagnosed by a mental health professional. Explain this to that persons. You may need some help dealing with it this.
My thinking is that you have a "over active imagination". Most young people have a vivid imagination.
Please, please don’t not listen to the pseudo psychologist that label you with terms like schizophrenic

that is a symptom of schizophrenia. if you continuously lack the ability to determine the difference between what actually happens to you and what you believe happened to you then see a psychiatrist

if you are reading about a story about wonder woman in a g-string and it becomes reality you get your ass straight over to my place.

Give more details:
Do you mean that if you read I.E. Lord of the Rings you start thinking dragons and the rings exist?
Or do you mean you sometime get so "caught up" in the book that your memory plays tricks on you and you think it happened?
Is it only when you read books or is it other things too, like if you sit and fantasize you doing sometihng then an hour later ur not sure if it’s happened or not?
fuck that idiot who said its schizophrenia, with such little detail that’s not a way to diagnose sh*t

You may just have a very unique sense of imagination. I have panic attacks myself and while reading a novel I can really get into the plot. I’ll laugh out loud, get angry, get scared for the character but I never think I am that character for real or confuse my life for the life of the character. If you’re just really engrossed in a novel that sounds absolutely normal. Why do people get scared watching a scary movie, can’t turn the lights off at night, it’s just a movie but a little bit does affect reality, I think it’s human nature? Books are the same, a good writer can make you cry and feel empathy. If I were you I’d change the genre your reading, make sure it’s an uplifting novel, nothing depressing!

you are normal for the most part. it is normal to feel like a fictional story is real for a period of time after you have been engrossed in the experience. the thing that worries me is the panic attack. i think you are just too worried about your current predicament. just remember that it is normal to do what you have been doing.

It could be symptoms of what they call Schizophrenia or maybe just mental stress, but it is difficult to be diagnosed over yahoo, so you would probably benefit from going to the doctor’s, I can tell you are worried about it, and worry just makes the mind worse, so better than worry a lot, go to your doctor’s and explain this to them and see what they say. Try not to fret though and get plenty of rest.

You just need to ease up on vicariously living through the characters of a book. Pause every few minutes and focus on the here and now.
