I drive over 200 miles at nite for my job. it’s lonely and sometimes on these 2 roads i start to get light headed and have a sense that i am scared of something then my heart feels like it’s going to go out of my chest. This has happen to me several times and it’s the point where i know one is fixing to happen and i can sort of control it. Will these ever stop? I hate to quit, it’s a really good job. but i want to overcome this but don’t know how.

Sounds similar to driving anxiety. Check the link for an article I found. Hope this helps.

well 1st…200miles for a night job????

I get panic attacks. Mine come In a non- stressful environment (ie watching tv), my heart would RACE and I felt heavy…like a weight on me… and had a sense that something bad was about to happen. And I’d try to tell myself I was ok, that I was crazy for thinking that something bad was going to happen

I talked to my Dr and he gave me pills to take for sudden onsets. Ya, I was really confused by how I could be in panic mode at any given time. My situation only lasted (consistantly) for a few months and now I only get them once in a blue moon. Never even finshed my meds before the settled down quite a bit

Sounds more like an anxiety attack. The more you "think " about the issue the worse it gets. When you feel this coming on, take a dep breathe in through you nose and let is out slowly though your mouth and tall yourself this is just something you an imagining and it is all OK. Turn on the radio and listen to a tune or distract yourself in some way. Sing a song outloud or laugh etc to get the chemicals going that make you feel safe.
