My daughter and now my son…what next?!! Please look..having a panic attack!?
Okay so I am currently having another panic attack…heres why..
First of all I have a phobia called emetophobia and my 6 month old daughter was trying rice cereal (with apple juice to mix in it) for the first time with the apple juice and then she ended up vomiting it all back up (vomited once and then spit up a couple of times that night and then once in the morning..not too much) and now shes fine..and actually has had fine poopy diapers, nothing watery or anything like that..I kinda wonder if she was just having a reaction to the apple juice (I did add a lot and didnt dilute it..) but now my 21 month old son just had 2 watery poopy diapers..now he hasnt acted like he is sick or anything like that and it still could have been anything he ate (he did go to the babysitter’s house last night)..anyways could he be sick? or just a reaction to something??
Oh and he did eat quite a few pistachios about 30-45 min.s before he had his poopy diaper..could that have caused it??
Thanks! I just need reassurance!
I don’t think you actually have emetophobia you’re probably just grossed out by throwing up, which many people are. Your daughter could have had a reaction to the apple juice but it also could have been she was already sick and you happened to feed her apple juice at the wrong time. Even if she seems fine I would still give her some medicine and watch out for more symptoms, just in case she is sick. For your son I kind of think it was the pistachios or something he ate. I would also give him some meds though and make sure he isn’t eating anything irregular.

You don’t need to panic,if the watery poop doesn’t go away by tomorrow then take him to the doctor to make sure he doesn’t get dehydrated,Your little girl might have gotten sick because the apple juice was to hard on her stomach.Bring it up to the doctor next time you go before trying to give it to her again.I suffer from panic attacks also and when my children were infants I think I freaked out over every little bump or spot.

The two incidents probably have nothing to do with each other. I have an 8 month old daughter who always vommitted when I tried to feed her cereal, no matter what i mixed it with. Her dr said it probably has to do with the unfamiliar texture and a sensitive gag reflex. Try offering it to her again in a few days, and if it continues to happen, just do away with the cereal all together. Of course check with your dr, but this is what I was told to do. Cereal isn’t vital to a baby’s diet, so you could skip it and go right to baby food. As for your son, he may have just eaten something that irritated his bowels, or picked up a bug somewhere. As long as he stays hydrated and there isn’t any blood in his stools, and he recovers after a couple of days, it’s not anything to get worked up over. If it makes you feel better, take him to the dr., but if he’s better after 2 or 3 days, it’s probably no big deal.

What I’m worried about more than anything is giving nuts to a baby under the age of 2. Kids aren’t supposed to eat nuts until they’re at least 5 due to the very real threat of choking. Please don’t give your little one any more small, hard foods like that for a while, it’s dangerous!

This sounds like a very simple case of gastroenteritis, AKA the stomach flu. They will be fine. Get them some pedialyte and have them eat very lightly for the next couple of days. It will pass, but be careful, you may end up with it.
The symptoms vary from person to person, some people have just diarrhea, some have just vomiting, some have both but in different orders.
