how is a panick attack caused?? what do people do when they have them??

A panic attack is usually caused by stressful situations. Some people are more able than others to keep their emotions under control. The attack means that you cannot get your breath and feel like you are suffocating. In really severe cases it may be necessary to dial 999 and ask for an ambulance, which when they arrive will administer oxygen and then access the situation to see if a trip to hospital is necessary. A DIY method is to breath into a paper bag, this does work as I have tried it. Hope this info has been useful to you!

A massive, overwhelming feeling of panic, most of the time for no reason as such. The throat seems to close and you feel like you can’t catch a breath, your heart pounds like mad and you just want to get away as quickly as possible. there’s not much you can do if someone with you has an attack – just let them get it out of their system the way they want to, and Comfort them afterwards.

they’re not necessarily set off by anything sometimes.
it could be set off by simply thinking about a certain thing.
they’re also hereditery or can begin if you’re stressed, thrown into a stressful situation, worrying about something or have a phobia.

During a panic attack many feel as if they’re going crazy, losing control of themselves, having a heart attack or even dying. They can cause heart palpitations, sweating, shaking, difficulty breathing, dizziness, nausea, light headedness, sensation of choking or smothering, hyperventilation and chest pain.

There’s not much you can do while you’re having one
except try to calm down. talk to your doctor about them, sometimes
they’ll give you something to take.
Lay down and rest, try and clear your mind and wait until it
passes.

Stress, anxiety and depression cause them. When you have one your heart starts pounding, you get all hot and sweaty, have an `out of body` experience and you think you`re going to die. If you recognise what they are you can control them. Go somewhere quiet and take deep breaths until you regain your composure, and tell yourself you`re being silly. With practise it is achievable.

Panic attacks are caused by anything. Spiders (my BF) Moths(My BF again), Injections (Me :D ), bad memories.

Usually the ssymptoms are increased, uncontrollable breathing, light headedness coz of this, and a general feeling of wanting to get somewhere safe. Adrenaline goes through the roof too which makes people tired afterwards and feeling weak.

They are usually stress related anthing can trigger them. You go very breathless and your heart starts to race, its it a very scary experience my doctor advised me to breath deeply in a paper bag – that helps. The best thing is to try and relax and remember it is very rare to die from one.

Mine went after i had my daughter funny enough.I used to have to travel by cab everywhere cause there was no way i would go on the tube or bus.I bought a watch and used to concentrate on the minute hand when i would feel one comming on.Also i think its a case of mind over matter.Concentrate on the positive and tell yourself that you will beat it.Just remember that the feeling will pass but try and stop it mentally first.YOU CAN DO THIS.

Guess that if somebody has a phobia of something and are exposed to it..they might get a panic attack
Also it might be caused by the side effect of certain medications
It might also be because it runs in the family (heredity) or caused by too much of anxiety…
hope this bit help…
you can learn more on that from

It could be a medication taken. I can have a panic attack after taking a sinus medication. My heart pounds like crazy and I can’t sleep.
