Panic Attack Disorder?
I am only 13, and I had my first panick attack when I was 11, at a school party. I continually had panick attacks, so my mom took me to the doctor. They did a whole bunch of tests, and there is nothing wrong with me. I am so thankful for that! My doctor did say though, that I had somthing called "Panick Attack Dissorded". The problem though, is that I am lightheaded 24/7! I had to have my mom pick me up from school today, because I felt like I was going to pass out. I blelieve that ssometimes it actually happenes, but sometimes, it doesn’t happen until I really think about it. Is there anyways I can get my mind off of it, (Feeling dizzy, and Felling like i’m going to pass out)? And, is there any way to prevent it from ACTUALLY happening?
good news awaits you. i also suffer from panic attacks. i went to a therapist who taught me some tricks to over come them.
1. when a panic attack starts to occur do deep breathing. to do deep breathing you need to breathe in slowly through your nose to a count of 8. hold to a count of 4 then slowly release through the mouth to a count of 8. keep repeating until you feel better.
2. do not consume anything with caffeine in it during or right after an episode. drink only ice cold water and lots of it. you can also do this if you feel one coming on. but you do need to consume as little caffeine as possible. caffeine only makes it worse and can cause attacks. consuming as little caffeine as possible means sodas and chocolate and other things that have caffeine in them. when you start to feel a panic attack coming on do not back away from it. you need to face it down and realize that there is nothing there that can harm you. do not dwell on having panic attacks. think about other things. think about things that you like to do and people that you like being around. then imagine being around them and doing the things that you enjoy doing. it’s hard to do and i know that but it can be over come.

i have it too its hard to stop it from happening because its in your mind and your mind plays tricks on you. (you get nervous that its going to happen again so in effect it happens again.) my dr gave me a prescription of xanax to get on the train and get through school (the attacks were the worse in the subway i would get claustrophic)
the xanax did help because it calms your mind and stops the anxiety so you get over those experiences and get more comfortable. your 13 i dont know if they would give it to you.
other things you could try naturally is magnesium vitamins, this mineral helps to stabalize your muscles and relax you. you could also carry chocolates with you (it used to help me when I would start to feel ightheaded & worn out.)
if it doesnt go away you will need to be on some kind of prescription because it will get worse (if it doesnt stop you wont want to go anywhere you know.)

Panic attacks can sometime come from an overload of anxiety or stress. If you feel uncontrollable crying and your body feels like its getting warmer and warmer then its a panic attack.
If this is what you are talking about then I know what its like. There isn’t anything physically or mentally wrong with you if it happens its just sometimes it happens and it scares people because they don’t know what is happening.
Just try to figure out if there is anything bothering. Try to get worries and stress out of the way. Once you figure out whats bothering then that should help you. If you can’t solve them then do something that relaxes you then go back to trying to solve your problems.
Give yourself some relief and get your anxiety out of the way and your light headed-ness should go away slowly
