Panic Attack-Fainting-Difficulty Breathing-?
Hey all… I need some quick advice. I’m having THE panic attack from hell… I’ve had it all day long. I just started my menstrual period this morning.. I’m having problems swallowing, I can’t even swallow water, I choke. I’m having difficulty breathing, I fainted two times today.. my heart is racing, I’m having hot/cold flashes. It’s been going on for over 6 hours now, should I have a glass of red wine to calm my nerves?
I’ve had anxiety for years but nothing like this. I’m wnodering if it’s just my period, or if it could be something more serious. I’ve had my phone in my hands all day about to dial 911 but embarassed if it’s just a panic attack.
What should I do? any at home remedies I can try? Thanks =\
Hey, its okay you need to relax and stop worrying because its nothing more serious then a panic attack, since you haven’t had one in a while then you probably just kind of forgot what it feels like. When you worry the panic just gets worse, trust me i know. I have had this before, you just have to say to yourself this is uncomfortable but not dangerous, has anything ever horrible happened to you when having a panic attack. Nothing will happen to you, but if you make it into something more you will just panic more. Try to drink water, put on a funny show, call a friend or even go out and have a run. Anything to distract yourself, by sitting home all day you are just making yourself more panicked. OH my if you passed out you should go to the hospital. I have panic disorder and once or twice I have passed out, but if you pass out it could be something more serious or you may just need some oxygen.
Also, in the mean time, do a puzzle or color or read to try and get your mind off of it. Lie down and put your hand on your belly and try to breathe so that your belly moves up and down. Breathe out of your nose. If you are NOT on ANY medicine than it may help to have a glass of wine. Tell yourself that it’s just panic and nothing to worry about. Take a warm bath. Listen to some slow music.

it doesn’t sound like something you can just pass off my dear. i think you need to call your doctor or someone. passing out, and choking don’t sound very good. i think its best to call someone. i can’t really think of a remedy for this kind of "panic attack"

Seems like a panic attack. I’m still trying to get over mine. I started getting them days after I choked. Now I worry to much about my family and things going on about Korea and 2012 isn’t helping. I suggest you go talk to someone or do something fun. I usually talk to a friend of mine who also gets panic attacks and that helps cuz she knows what I feel.Getting these attacks sucks especially if your a teen, which I am. I even have the fear of sleeping now.Well like I said talk to someone you trust and that might help.Talking right now just help me.Hope you feel better. =)

i would seek medical help its never stupid to get check its better to be safe than sorry just in case something else is seriously wrong
