For a year I would randomly wake up having I think a panic attack. Its not an everday occurrence. It randomly comes. I never have this happen during the daytime. I wake up feeling like Im gasping for air, like everything is caving in, my heart is beating faster, legs shaking. Everytime I have this I jump up out of my bed and I walk to the bathroom and have to pee. Then I sleep no more panic for the night.
Almost 2 yrs ago I has having heart palpitations but it endedup being an herbal med causing it. I already went to a cardiologist then and had an echo done and also was on a heart monitor. everything came out fine. I had a CBC-complete blood panel a year ago. said no thyroid issues. Maybe I should get a cbc again? A sleep study costs a lot of money. No health insurance

It sounds like you’re having sleep panic attacks. It might help to get in the practice of relaxing before you go to bed. Perhaps try meditation, or just reading a relaxing novel for a bit before sleeping. It really helps.

Sleep panic attack symptoms closely resemble a heart attack and you’re more likely to injure themselves when you are in a comatose state. During sleep panic attacks, you are awoken right in the middle of a panic attack without the escalations of symptoms leading to that attack.

When you notice you’re having an attack, stop trying to resist it and welcome all the feelings full force. A lot of the suffering in a panic attack comes from simply resisting the symptoms in the first place. If you let them run their course, the episode will be done with faster and you’ll release all that anxiety.

this a sleep disorder. I would say you have some stress in your life, probably within an hour to 2 of falling asleep you have this happen. Its common.
your basically stress out.
when we are young we sometimes react to the things around us…it comes out in our sleep patterns.
first you have=
some anxiety
I would go to your herb shop and get some mineral salts=
kali phos
silicea
and then get some herbs that calm your mind at night……

you will find this will stop in time…just make sure you get some herb tinctures
I had this for about 10 years until i got some herbs and it stopped

If you have 2 or more of this symtoms you might suffer Sleep disorder:Excessive daytime sleepiness
Loud snoring, which is usually more prominent in obstructive sleep apnea
Observed episodes of breathing cessation during sleep
Abrupt awakenings accompanied by shortness of breath, which more likely indicates central sleep apnea
Awakening with a dry mouth or sore throat
Morning headache
Difficulty staying asleep

I think the problem is that many are experiencing panic at the time of this process and not being able to move only heightens this panic. But don’t be afraid of the paralysis itself because its natural. Try to figure out what is bothering you on a subconcious level. Which I know is not easy and sometimes not even possible. For acute problems I would suggest medication and or therapy.

Take care of Yourself!
