Hi i have been having panic attacks on & off since the age of 15 (I’m now 30) i first sufferd real bad for around 3 years i never went anywhere on my own or even out in the garden for the first year, i had some help from the doc’ after 1year, & was referred to a counselor for awhile but didn’t really get anywhere i was given some tablets which worked a treat but after 3 months i became very aggressavie & members of my family even notice the change. Anyway the tablets helped i got out met my current husband and 3 daughters later still here but i always got occastional attacks but now have real bad night attacks this is really affecting me, my husband is supportive but has to work nights somtimes & this is when they really affect me i wake with a pounding hart jump up thinking all sorts and sometimes find myself out on our landing ? i have notice how i am really dependent on my mobile phone even during the day i get very panicky if i forget it or can’t see it this has to stop HELP PLS
i stopped taking the tablet when they made me aggressive I’ve been back to my doctors this year but all he offered me was sleeping pills which i refused as i have young children who still wake in the night i’m just starting to feel as tho i’m losing control a bit not suicidle just lost i worry i disturb my children my oldest is 8 it would frighten her to see me like that if my husband was working nights. My family are good they say i can call antytime of the night but i feel ashamed i’m like this still iam close to tears

If you aren’t seeing any real progress with your current doctor and counselor, try to find other professionals that can help you.If the situation is really out of control, why not go to a psychiatric ward or hospital for a few days? You have a full team of professional who help you when you need it,you are away from the common stresses of life, your husband and kids can visit you often and they will also give you tips and tell you what to do in certain situation. They will also take a look at the medication you are taking, and will change it or leave that if it’s effective or not but you said it was,so probably they won’t change it.

Good luck

Ask your current Dr if Effexor xr will help your condition.
http://www.effexorxr.com/ I suffer from sever anxiety. I always thought I was going to die or some one close hated me on an on. The constant worry and panic was horrid. I have been taking Effexor now for several years. I still have minor moments but I am myself. I am happy. I also was talk that the dosage must be 150mg to treat the anxiety. who nows maybe it will work fo you. I wish you the best.

you can check your self in the hospital, and ask for help, it’s called the Baker act, I went in for schizophrenia, they gave me some seroquel 200mg so far, it’s helping, We All have something wrong with us, before I went in for the Baker act, I
would see people telling how to make things, the trees spoke to me, even the rocks, this medication helps me sleep at night.
maybe try http://www.healthyplace.com

im 49 and i too suffer from panic attacks. seems like they always happen to me at work and i have humilated myself many times in front of my coworkers. i get made fun of alot and started having the attacks about 30 minutes before i had to report to work. something i do when im having one is i tell myself, ok my panic is unreasonable. i am safe, nothing bad is going to happen to me. the fear of having a panic attack can often trigger a panic attack. just keep telling yourself whats the worse thing that can happen if i have one. am i going die? sometimes changing your meds can help. you may have built up an immunity to that particular pill so something new might help. i suffer from bi polar and about every 3 years or so my doctor changes my prescription. good luck
