plz help. am i having panic attacks?
so when i get really upset or im crying i start getting all shaky and i cant breathe. it almost like im choking on nothing. it like my throat is closed and i want to breathe but when i try i cant and i just have to kneel or sit and just think ‘breathe breathe’ and even when i do that it really hard to. and if i lose that concentration on breathing then i stop breathing again. is this a panic attack? if so what can i do to help me through this episode/ thanks for any help

p.s. this has been going on for a few months and i dont want to go to my parents cuz i dont have the guts and a doctor would cost money (which my parents have spent enough on for me in the medical field)

:/ it could very well be. i’ve had about 8 or 9 panic attacks in my life, all last year cept one, on new years eve. once you get your first they come more easily. i get them if something bad has happened to someone i’m really close to, if something big is happening and there’s a lot of loud noises, pretty much, if something really bad has happened. (i worry a LOT.) lol
when i do get them i’m very shaky. i’ll usually shake in like convulsions. kind of like when you get the chills but on a much bigger scale. my heart will also start to beat really fast and i will forget to breath. either that or i breath unusually slow, and it’s shaky.
what i do to calm myself down is i curl up into a ball and just concentrate on breathing and bringing my heart rate down.
i’m definitely no doctor and i’ve never seen a doctor about this, this is just what’s happened to me and what i’ve sort of learned from google.

Definitely sounds as if you’re having an anxiety attack. Did they just start or have you always had them? If they just started you need to find out what makes it different now than from the what happened before. You need to try to calm down and breathe deeply when you start to feel panicky. You should try praying, it helped me. I used to be a mess.

I think I can help you a way lot with your possible panic attacks/vs anxiety attacks/anxiety.
I am not a doctor, but I had the same thing as you did last year, and i can tell you what I did to get over them, it’s really easy, and it’s free, it’s not anything that you have to take.
The only thing is that it would be easier for me to tell you, like if yo Had AIM or Skype, I could talk with you on in real time, if you know what I mean.
It almost kept me from doing any ting, and I almost lost all my friends and stuff like that.
I almost lost my gf also, she thought I was going crazy, and she didn’t wanna be with me anymore, so that kinda really was bad.
How old are you.? You didn’t say, and I’m wondering.
Im 15, and I don;t know if that makes a difference to you or not.

it sounds to me like an anxiety attack i have had them before and they are very scary same symptoms as youre explaining what i do is u need to have some sort of distraction talk to a friend or put the radio/tv on something you like it will focus ur mind elsewhere but u should also see a dr abut that they can prescribe meds you can take to calm you down whenur having an attack
