AS A RECOVERING SUFFERER-AND KNOWING CAUSE-I`M MORE THAN PLEASED TO STATE -RECOVERING!
PROBLEM? WHERE I LIVE IN HEYSHAM-THERE ARE NO `RESOURSES`!
IF I GO TO GP-I GET `CUCKOO` TABLETS-IN FORM OF ANTIDEPRESSANTS!
NO THANK YOU!
I HAVE SEARCHED INTERNET FOR `GROUPS`-ONLY TO FIND THAT `MOST` OF PERSONS/MEMBERS-HAVE BEEN SO FOR YONKS-AND IS `VERY` CLIQUE!
I AM PLEASED FOR THEM-GENUINELY-BUT DOESN`T HELP ME!
EG: ONE HAS A CAR-AND PICKS UP OTHERS-WITH SAME ILLNESS/SYMPTOMS-AND -OK!
AS A PERSON ON OWN EXCEPT COMPANION DOG-LACK OF CONVERSATION MAKES UPHILL SEEM DOWN AT TIMES!
ANY SITES THAT ARE FOR LIKEWISE PEOPLE-THAT DON`T WANT TO `MARRY YOU OFF` ?

Did you know Heysham has a website? Here it is: http://www.heyshamonline.co.uk/index.htm It says you can contact the guy on the front page for help and there is also a letters section where you could maybe get the word out in your village. If you’ve already tried that, then the Lancaster.gov site might have some help for you, though maybe not as close.

You can also try this site: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/support/anxiety-panic/Weekly-miniFAQ/

Hope this helps!

new research shows talking is not the best way to solve problems.work with your hands or spend your time in nature to find yourself back

Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. The following steps should eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) your panic attacks without you going on meds:

1.Breathe properly – if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks, agorophobia and anxiety etc. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: http://www.livinglifetothefull.com

3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. You can get free downloads in you put "progressive muscle relaxation" into Google (e.g. lots of universities have them as free downloads)

With each step practise makes perfect. (i.e. practise the steps every day, not just when you are feeling bad). I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!
