Good morning,

I am 20, female, and for the last few months I have been suffering quite bad stress and anxiety. I currently have a health problem, which has been making me feel very anxious about it, and also I have been sorting alot of peoples problems, and the anxiety has just built up. Yesterday I was in a state of panic, and having a panic attack for about 3 hours, which was horrible.

This morning I feel alot better. My Mum has given me a 20ml bottle of Rescue Remedy. I read that you can put 4 drops in water, and take at intervals, how many times is that then, that you can take it? Also, I have taken the method this morning of putting 4 drops on my tongue, how many times can you do that a day? As it doesn’t say you can take it that way multiple times…

How long does it take to have effect for anxiety and worry?

Thanks!! xxxx

:)

you can take it as often as feels good for you, all that’s in it is brandy and flower essences. a good way to take it is to put four drops under your tongue and just breath it in for a couple minutes. this might also help because sometimes when we get stressed we forget to breath.

don’t listen to people who say this is bunk. it works for some and not for others. even if it is a placebo effect, if it helps who cares? it doesn’t help me at all, but i’ve seen it work for friends and i have really severe anxiety and need something a lot stronger.

if it helps you take however much is right for you. if it doesn’t, you might consider seeing a naturopath. my naturopath has really helped with my anxiety. i would also recommend therapy. everyone can use a wise sympathetic ear.

another thing that’s really helped me is yoga and meditation. i have trouble meditating because my mind is always racing, so guided meditations on cd are really helpful. but yoga is really the best. the whole point of yoga is to prepare the body and mind for meditation by bringing stillness. when you do a really intense yoga session, you’ll find that eventually you’re not thinking about anything but the pose and your breath. it’s really good for your mental state to get a break from all those busy thoughts.

remember, anxiety is a like fire alarm. taking meds, even herbal ones is turning off the alarm, not finding the fire. if you want to put it out, you need therapy.

You can use Rescue Remedy as often as you feel it’s necessary by sipping it in water throughout the day or night or placing drops under your tongue. You can use it in accordance with your need. There are no "prescribed" dosages and you cannot overdose.

It will help greatly to relieve symptoms of anxiety and you must also look to the reasons behind the anxiety and possibly use another method (Reiki, psychotherapy, etc.) to get at the root of your problem.

There are practitioners who are well versed in the use of flower essences and another Bach essence or combination may be more appropriate for your particular need.
