Panic attacks can start for many reasons such as stress, overworking, bereavement, family, an accident, childbirth, following surgery and so on but at times is can occur for NO REASON at all (which happens to most people).

The MAIN problem comes when panic attack doesn’t go away and sufferers start to associate panic attack with the activity or place that trigger their panic attack and avoid it…you can see where this is going…With each subsequent attacks, their "avoid list" builds up and it can prevent them from leading a normal life.

You began to believe some things during your last depression. The chemicals allowed your thoughts to be sent to a fear section and what was a concern now is now a fearful logic patch that is only partly true.

There were two causes to mine:
Stress and an antibiotic.

When I took a certain antibiotic, it had a side effect and made me anxious and stressed. These two feelings combined caused me to have a panic attack.

Oh gosh! It can be anything from a medication that you are taking to a thyroid condition to another hormone condition to a mental condition to something that they will never figure out why!

My husband gets panic attacks. We’ve been through about 4 psych docs, 3 different runs of therapy of different kinds and a ton of different medications. And nothing stops them! He does have several other health problems and his newest psych doc thinks that his thyroid condition is the most likely culprit even though his endocrinologists says it’s under control. Apparently the thyroid can work in fits and starts, not enough to show up on the blood work but enough to throw off his body chemistry and facilitate the panic attacks.

He will go a month without any and then have 3 in one week, that’s just the way it works. Nothing is predictable!
