What do I do from long lasting symptoms from a panic attack?

I experienced my first panic attack over 24 hours ago and am still feeling many of the symptoms. At first I had no idea what had happened to me but after reading others’ extremely similar experiences I know that had to be it. I’m still feeling numbing sensations and am very weak. I am hesitant about going to the hospital because the panic was induced by smoking marijuana. I just need assurance that this feeling will go away. Immediately after the panic attack I knew that a huge factor was that I was all in my head, but it’s been over a day and am completely calm now but still don’t feel physically normal.
P.S. It’s obvious that I should quit smoking pot.. which after this, I’m done– but i’ve been smoking for years and nothing like this has ever happened to me before. Also: I read that the side effect of numbness only lasts during the attack and subsides along with the hyperventilation… so why is it lasting so long?

With panic attacks it all links to your cognitive behavior. This is just a guess, but later in your life you may feel anxiety because you already had a panic attack from marijuana and it may bring it back. I knew someone who smoked marijuana and had numbing sensations as you and it lasted a period of time. I’m not entirely sure, but check to see if you can actually get checked from a doctor without any legal implications. Im pretty sure if you ask for help on your marijuana habits they will overlook it.

This could be a blessing in disguise, at least you are moving away from a bad and dangerous habit. In case panic attacks become a problem in your life, check out my blog.
