What happens when you drink while you’re taking antidepressants and anti-axiety meds such as xanax?
I’m taking prozac and xanax. Last night I drank, and ended up getting very depressed. I couldn’t sleep because I was constantly getting panic attacks. Even now, I’m sick to my stomach with anxiety.
That’s what happened to me when I drank and took antidepressants. It was the worse feeling ever. I had to scream in the pillow at the top of my lungs. Ill never do that again.
It’s best to avoid alcohol all together because antidepressants combined with alcohol can destroy your short term memory. Really I can’t bring myself to drink because I feel like it’s just not worth it.

well I know for me, I drink and when I do I get really crazy. I’m on Topamax and Celexa, and mixing these with alcohol is not always good. I always seem to be picking fights with people, over like the dumbest shit. And I just get really angry and pissed off. I also end up getting quite depressed the next day as well, and I usually end up sleeping till like 2 in the afternoon. Hey if you want to talk, I’m here

Alcohol increases the sedative effects of antidepressants and in itself is a downer. Alcohol is the last thing a depressed person should be consuming.
If your meds are not helping as prescribed you need to seek the hlp of your doctor asap.
