Last night, i was woken up at about midnight because some kids were outside my house, yelling, fighting, etc. To be completely honest, i was pissed off, because i had to be up in a few hours. I went outside yelling at them, then went back inside, mad as ever. I layed back down. Then my cheast really started to hurt, and i felt heart palpitations. I could tell my heart was racing, and it hurt. It took me a good deal to calm down and fall asleep. Is this a panic attack or something? This has never happened to me before

been there………you didnt have a panic attack, but your blood pressure most likely sky rocketed!!! The result is chest pains, shortness of breath, kinda tight around your chest. You were pissed, REALLY pissed.

It could have been a panic attack but I doubt it, sounds more like your blood pressure was up because of all the yelling and frustration you did.

It sounds like you have a heart problem. A panic attack is like claustophobia. You have the same symptoms but without the chest pains (at least with me). A xanax usually calms me down. I would see a Doctor if I were you.

A panic attack is a sudden bout of intense fear or anxiety that causes frightening but not life-threatening symptoms such as a pounding heart, shortness of breath, and the feeling of losing control or dying. Usually from 5 to 20 minutes long, a panic attack may be triggered by stressful circumstances or it may occur unexpectedly.

The body has an automatic fear response that prepares you to either cope with or run away from danger. A panic attack results when this "fight or flight" response either overreacts or becomes activated when it is not needed at all. During a panic attack, your nervous system reacts as if you are facing a life-threatening situation, even though you may not be in danger. This response causes alarming physical symptoms and feelings.

Panic disorder is diagnosed when you have repeated panic attacks, you worry about having another attack, and you avoid places that you think may cause one. It is possible to have panic attacks without developing panic disorder, and panic attacks may occur with other anxiety disorders.

Could just well be,or maybe adrenalin from being so pissed of and acting on it so quickly, and you actually were just really frightened by it all, kids these days are cable of anything these days. But if it happens again and you can’t control it and cant breathe there is a shot that the local hospital can give you to calm it right down

No not a panic attack. They are more like panic, you feel trapped and have to get OUT fast! Your heart is racing with no pain, you sweat, shake and just feel an overwhelming urge to run fast. This is the fight or flight response to fear which a panic attack is. Unreasonable fear, you don’t even know why. I get them in the movie theater, in line anywhere. I now take Effexor it has helped but I wish I would have gotten another type of anti-depressant. You may have had like the others said a raise in blood pressure with the anger. Those rude kids can do that to you.

somebody who has experienced panick attacks for at least 5 years i feel i’m in two minds what it was you had! My first panick attack came on like yours totally out of the blue while I was in a dance lesson. I don’t know about you but I thought I was having a heart attack and thought I was going to die. I went to the doctor straight away and with one look he said it was a panick attack. I was very relieved but unfortunately got into a spiral of pannicking about having a panic attack, which made me have them all the more. I’m hoping that because you had one that wasn’t in public this won’t be a problem for you. Panick attacks can become a habit like biting your nails. Try and remember the fight or flight syndrome too. You were obviously startled and not having time to think your brain reacted quicker than your body. It might have just been your bodies way in catching up with itself. Back to being in two minds I dont think it was a panic attack, I think it was what I just said… keep wellX
