Why do I have panic attacks in the dark?
Since i was little ive been afraid of the dark it was bad when i was little but it has gotte better.I do sleep with a night ligth but some nights a have panic attacks they dont last long but i get really scared and paranoid, and today at school the lights went off for like 5 seconds and i just fell on the floor at my locker because i was scared.
My parents said id grown out of it but im 15 and i dont think i ever will.
It’s just something you’ll have to deal with. There’s nothing wrong with you, it happens to some people. Go to the doctor and see if they have anything for it. But you’re fine, it’s nothing un-normal.

you know, i get those panic attacks too after i watched a really scary movie…but enough of that…
if they are that severe and obviously related, it might be a chronic fear of the dark- get some pills (anxiety) from your doctor or a therapist and youll be fine.

This may have something to do with an experience when you were younger, but then again…
Well, something about the darkness frightens you. Something about the lack of light makes you panic.
Why? I’m not sure that anyone can answer that question as well as you or your parents can. What have your experiences been in the dark?
P.S: You can still grow out of it. You may still be frightened in the dark, but in the future, it might not escalate into a panic attack.
Yay! I’m fifteen too!!!!!

It sounds like you have a clinical problem and you should tell your parents that you need help. I don’t think that this is something you will out grow. Talk to a school councelor about it and he will advise you.

If you’re still that afraid of the dark, you must be feeding the fear through something you are watching or reading. If you stop watching horror movies and playing the more scarey video games, I’ll bet you get over it. What you put in your brain through what you watch and listen to is wha will come out in fears of things.

Watch Saw, it might make it better, then again, it might make it worse
