Why would a panic attack lower my blood sugar?
Had one once that did that when I had a panic/flashback type attack from a time I once had taken too much insulin.
One of the body’s reactions to low blood sugar is that the adrenal glands increase production, dumping more adrenaline in your system. That’s probably what produced your panic attack rather than the low blood sugar being caused by the panic attack.

Sounds like your glucose dropped first then caused the panic etc.

Actually, a panic attack should raise your blood sugar. Many stresses on the body like that will raise it.

Most of the answers here are pretty accurate, its not the panic attack lowering your blood sugar, it a hypoglycimic induced panic attack.

Panic attacks and low blood sugar can give you pretty much the same symptoms. Mix those with a bi-polar episode and you’ll lock yourself in the closet, for sure , been there, done that. Was not good.

No. Just the opposite, as alluded to by the others. Stress and illness actually raise blood sugar as a fight or flight defense mechanism.

sounds like you’re a dibetic. you probably didn’t eat right prior to those events. My ex-husband used to go through this alot. But i think it’s cause he was also using street drugs. I used keep a pocket full of Jolly rancher candies in my pocket or purse just for those occasions cause you can generally tell when those attacks are about to happen. Your moods swing left to right like the twinkling of an eye just before the worst sets in.
